HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – November 21, 2022 – Ternion® Corporation, developers of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) simulation software for defense, aerospace, transportation, and research and development organizations, proudly announces the release of version 21.0 of their flagship simulation framework, FLAMES®. With the release of version 21.0, Ternion also announces the addition of new products and content and the release of the new FLAMES Store, FLAMES Launcher, and FLAMES GitHub repositories.
Significant enhancements available in FLAMES 21.0 include:
The New Flames Launcher
The FLAMES Launcher is a free desktop application that provides a single, friendly user interface for acquiring, downloading, installing, and executing FLAMES products and FLAMES content.
The New FLAMES Engine
The FLAMES Engine is a new collection of FLAMES products that replaces several products which were previously sold and licensed separately. The FLAMES Engine includes a set of applications that allow you to create, execute, visualize, and control FLAMES scenarios. A no-cost license to the Trial Version of the FLAMES Engine is included in the new FLAMES Developer.
The New FLAMES Store
The new FLAMES Store is the place to find and acquire FLAMES products and FLAMES content. The Store is available in the FLAMES Launcher and on the FLAMES website. The Store in the Launcher and on the website are the same except that payment processing is supported only on the website.
New FLAMES Content
The new FLAMES Store includes several “content” items, each of which usually includes component plug-ins, example scenarios that use the components in the plug-ins, and documentation for the components. FLAMES content allows you to become productive using FLAMES quickly and easily without having to do any software development.
Training Videos
The new FLAMES website contains many new training videos for FLAMES users and FLAMES software developers. More videos are planned for the future. The goal is to give customers on-demand access to in-depth training without the need to pay for or attend a FLAMES training class.
New Floating Licenses
Floating licenses are now available for most FLAMES products. A floating license allows a product to be used concurrently on any computer that is connected to given local area network. Use floating licenses to allow every person in your organization to use FLAMES without having to purchase individual licenses for each person.
Updated Documentation
All FLAMES documentation has been updated and can now be accessed using most popular HTML browsers. New and separate documentation is included with most FLAMES content. All installed documentation can be opened easily from within the FLAMES Launcher.
Significant enhancements for FLAMES developers include:
The New FLAMES Developer
The FLAMES Developer includes the tools, include files, and software libraries you need to develop component classes that simulate the behavior of real-world systems or that extend the functionality of the FLAMES Engine. Licenses to the FLAMES Developer are available at no cost and can be installed on as many computers as you desire. Equip your entire software development team with the tools they need to create the simulations that you want. Trial versions of the FLAMES Engine and most of the FLAMES Options are included with the FLAMES Developer.
New Source Repositories
Ternion has created the new FLAMESFramework organization on GitHub. This organization contains several repositories, some of which contain the source code for the component plug-ins available in the FLAMES Store. Subject to the terms of the FLAMES License Agreement, you can use the source code with the FLAMES Developer to modify the component classes to meet your requirements and to create totally new classes. Other repositories contain the source code to useful tutorials and example programs.
